About
Welcome. My name is Charles “Buzz” Smith and I’m the SR Curmudgeon of Consulting Services at OPI National Outplacement.
So when I’m not managing consultants, which is like herding cats, I’m out and about searching for more effective ways to help individuals and their families successfully navigate through career transition.
What that involves is tweeting, friending, or connecting on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to understand and then pass along job search trends, strategies, and tactics. It also means researching relevant material for blogging, and being able to continuously update our training materials. I put 90% of it right here for anyone to read, so please feel free to comment, tweet, connect, or call 865.531.9154.

Hi Buzz-
My husband recently retired from the US Navy (SR. Chief) after 25 years. He took his first job offer, with a small defense contractor.
His is not totally thrilled, but in this Market, we felt it best for him to take the job.
He did just complete his Masters in Business and is 45-years young. What are your suggestions about ‘how’ to find interesting jobs, for him, at this stage in the game?
Your thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Warm Regards,
Pam Branigan (spouse)
Would need a little more information like his up to date resume. I then would be in a better position to advise.
First thing he should do is develop a Linkedin profile, then connect with me at( CA Buzz Smith), Knoxville, TN.
